Michael Hanahan, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer

Michael Hanahan has over 30 years of marketing, advertising, sales, busisness development and senior managerial experience with several of the world’s leading advertising agencies and private companies, including J. Walter Thompson, Earle Palmer Brown and Neovest/JP Morgan. Prior to joining Emerald Data Solutions™, Mr. Hanahan was Managing Director/Partner at Virtual Magic, a leading provider of marketing communications and Web-based technology solutions for Fortune 500 clients located throughout the United States, Canada, Asia and Europe.

Before Virtual Magic, Mr. Hanahan served as Co-President of Neovest, now part of JP Morgan. Neovest develops and markets a comprehensive suite of pre-trade analytics and advanced order entry tools for equities, fixed income, options and futures traders. At Neovest, Michael headed sales, marketing and fund-raising efforts, securing over $13 million from individual investors and venture capitalists during one of the most difficult private capital environments in history.

Mr. Hanahan's prior experience includes several of the nation's leading advertising and marketing firms, including time as Executive Vice President of TGM, an independent Atlanta-based Advertising Agency, where he was Partner, Director of Business Development and Creative Director. During his tenure, the company experienced unprecedented growth and established itself as a national creative force on accounts such as The American Cancer Society, MetLife/Travelers, GTE Wireless Data, UPS and various technology accounts.

Mr. Hanahan also served as a Senior Vice President with Babbit & Reiman Advertising, one of the first independent Atlanta agencies to achieve $100+ million in annual billings. There, he headed the company's Account Management and Business Development groups, directing all advertising and marketing activities for the agency’s flagship accounts, including The Atlanta 1996 Olympic Committee, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Financial News Network (now CNBC), GTE Mobile Communications, Cadillac and USA Today, among many others. Mr. Hanahan consistently led the agency in account profitability, billings growth and creative/marketing awards. His efforts are directly credited with making significant contributions to the valuation of the company prior to it’s purchase by Gold, Greenlees, Trott - one of the most widely acclaimed and successful agencies in Europe/Asia.

His previous experience also includes senior-level marketing and marketing research positions with J. Walter Thompson, where he helped introduce the BellSouth Mobility and Digital Communications brands, and Earle Palmer Brown, where he worked on a variety of national and international accounts.

Mr. Hanahan has won multiple Addys, Mobius’ and Effies, plus dozens of industry-specific awards for creativity and marketing effectiveness. His creative work developed for the Catholic Archdiocese resulted in a personal invitation to the Vatican, and he has served as a guest speaker at the Martin Luther King Center. His present volunteer activities include mentoring for the Park City Center for Advanced Professional Studies program, and serving on the boards of the American Cancer Society/Utah Chapter and the Park City Education Foundation, Park City, UT.
