The Online Board of Education System Will Give the Public "Unprecedented Access" to Board Information
Central Bucks School District is going digital with a new cloud-based service that will help better serve the district's school board and the school community as a whole, according to the district.
The district will being using a digital board management system called BoardDocs Pro that will "meet the unique needs and legal requirements of public school boards, county commissions, municipal governments and a wide variety of other types of governing bodies," the district said in a press release.
Not only will the new system help district officials and administrators, it will also give the public "unprecedented access" to board information and documents through the district's website, the district said.
This will allow the public to review information prior to meetings and after the meeting individuals can review the agenda items and see what action the board took, complete with voting results, according to the district. All documents associated with the meeting are automatically archived and can be accessed by date or by using the system’s comprehensive Search feature, the district said.
Also, members of the governing body will have access to best practices from other organizations that are using the system, allowing them to gain important knowledge about initiatives other governing bodies have considered and implemented, through the system's MetaSearch feature, the district said.
"The remarkably easy-to-use service will allow the organization to maximize the effectiveness of their board meetings with increased transparency, providing a basis for better and more open communication with the public, while dramatically improving productivity and saving thousands of dollars annually," a district press release said.
BoardDocs Pro also will help eliminate the use of paper, as the system is all digital, according to the district.
The new board management features can be accessed on the organization’s website. For questions regarding the governance initiative, contact Board Secretary Sharon Reiner at email@example.com.
