eGovLIVE 2016 - SAVE THE DATES!
We're excited to announce, the 14th Annual eGovLIVE Conference will take place September 7 - 9 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. As always, our conference will provide valuable, timely information and the opportunity to network with other governance representatives from across the nation, in a relaxed and informative atmosphere. "Corporate Support for Coding" in Education Week
After a degree in information systems, Grant Smith worked in Silicon Valley. Responding to a calling to teach, Grant became an Arizona Teaching Fellows, an alternative certification program sponsored by The New Teacher Project. Smith created a curriculum guide that draws from one hundred open resources including Code.org and Khan Academy. The sequenced K-8 lessons are aligned with Common Core and next-gen science standards. What Do Preteen Girls Think About Coding?
It's no secret that there is a huge gender gap in computer science. According to the National Center for Women & Information Technology, girls comprise only 19% of all AP Computer Science (CS) test-takers. Also, only 15% of all undergraduate CS degrees are earned by women. Read More
